At just the size of a Credit Card, our Bear Essentials Field Sharpers are the perfect ultralight way of maintaining an edge on your blades in the field.
Our unique ergonomic card design, allows you to grip and work the flat card for a variety of tools - from fishing hooks to pocket knives, axes, and even machete's!
Choose from one of our models, either as a standalone piece, or as an addition to your Bear Essentials Axe Mask, or Leather Patches.
The Medium Grit 200/600 Diamond Grit is when your blades are fairly dull, and are in need of some honing.
The Fine Grit 400/1000 Diamond Grit is perfect for honing the final touch ups on your blade
The design and shape is intended for easy handling - for use with your Axe or Knife. And very maneuverable to fine hone any knife with skill.

Design
The Leather Mask is designed for a snug fit on your Axe. With a thick welt to protect your blade and maintain it’s edge. Made from genuine Veg-Tan Leather.

The Sharpening Stone is located on the inside of the mask and features a 400/1000 diamond grit. It’s made of thin iron, to be sturdy yet lightweight. It features a unique shape which allows for various sharpening angles, and an improed grip.

The Strike Collar is made of a thicker leather to protect your axe handle from misses and overstrikes. It comes with a black leather lace to fit to your axe neck.

Care Instructions
For best results, use our Bucksaw Butter wax, a leather conditioner, or any beeswax based wax on the leather to maintain it’s suppleness as the years pass.

The Strike Collar is made to take abuse that would otherwise damage the neck of your axe. It will degrade over time and shouldnt be expected to last forever.
STORAGE:
Dry off a wet saw / blade prior to storage.
When not in use, leave the string de-tentioned.

Our Axe Masks come with a lifetime warranty, which includes any manufacturing defects which compromise the structural integrity of the mask from the manufacturing process.

DJ is one of the best, if not the best bushcraft/survival tutors in the internet. When I've seen his knots cheatsheet cards, I felt like if he reads my mind, as I did want to print something like that on my own, but seeing this there was no point any more - the format is smaller, meaning I can easily fit it in my pocket + there is SO much information like use cases, graphics etc - literally everything I would need.
And after ordering the cards, once I received it, I was super surprised to see it's not just the cards, but the whole metal box, with short ropes for training! The best value for the money

I received the Knot Tying Kit 3 days after I ordered it. The package arrived with no damage or issues. I ordered the Large version to have the Larger At-Home Guide (larger sized print and cards) to keep at my desk and the Credit Card-Sized Knot Guide stores in the burlap sack that is comes with. I don’t have to worry about losing the smaller guide (it stays with the ropes in the burlap sack) and by keeping the larger one at my desk it gives me the opportunity to practice knot tying on various sized cordage that I keep in my desk. The tin that comes with the kit is very nice and easily doubles for a fire kit (tinder, char cloth, lighter, etc.) or other type of survival kit. The actual knot tying kit itself (two ropes, credit card sized guide book, and burlap sack for storage) packs away with ease. The knot tying guide has clear directions with vivid and easy to follow illustrations. I like that it gives an overview (front card) of where you would use the knots at your campsite along with alternative knots for the same purposes. When you are looking at the individual knots (1-10), it gives an example of the usage along with tips for them or some even have clever mnemonics to help you memorize how to tie the knot. The very back card has a handy QR code to scan and go straight to a plethora of educational videos to include the knot tying ones. The back card also lists all the included knots as a quick reference. The guide cards are waterproof and sturdy. The two contrasting color (orange and green) ropes are very good to practice with and make the knots easy to see, especially when tying the two together. They are not flimsy and are easy to handle with gloves on as well. Overall, this is a high quality product with very helpful knots and worth every penny. I most definitely will be recommending this everyone

The cost of the cap, including shipping from Canada to the UK, was comparable to what I would pay in the UK for a similar item, the quality was great, and it arrived in just a few days.

DJ is one of the best, if not the best bushcraft/survival tutors in the internet. When I've seen his knots cheatsheet cards, I felt like if he reads my mind, as I did want to print something like that on my own, but seeing this there was no point any more - the format is smaller, meaning I can easily fit it in my pocket + there is SO much information like use cases, graphics etc - literally everything I would need.
And after ordering the cards, once I received it, I was super surprised to see it's not just the cards, but the whole metal box, with short ropes for training! The best value for the money

I received the Knot Tying Kit 3 days after I ordered it. The package arrived with no damage or issues. I ordered the Large version to have the Larger At-Home Guide (larger sized print and cards) to keep at my desk and the Credit Card-Sized Knot Guide stores in the burlap sack that is comes with. I don’t have to worry about losing the smaller guide (it stays with the ropes in the burlap sack) and by keeping the larger one at my desk it gives me the opportunity to practice knot tying on various sized cordage that I keep in my desk. The tin that comes with the kit is very nice and easily doubles for a fire kit (tinder, char cloth, lighter, etc.) or other type of survival kit. The actual knot tying kit itself (two ropes, credit card sized guide book, and burlap sack for storage) packs away with ease. The knot tying guide has clear directions with vivid and easy to follow illustrations. I like that it gives an overview (front card) of where you would use the knots at your campsite along with alternative knots for the same purposes. When you are looking at the individual knots (1-10), it gives an example of the usage along with tips for them or some even have clever mnemonics to help you memorize how to tie the knot. The very back card has a handy QR code to scan and go straight to a plethora of educational videos to include the knot tying ones. The back card also lists all the included knots as a quick reference. The guide cards are waterproof and sturdy. The two contrasting color (orange and green) ropes are very good to practice with and make the knots easy to see, especially when tying the two together. They are not flimsy and are easy to handle with gloves on as well. Overall, this is a high quality product with very helpful knots and worth every penny. Saw this guy on YouTube posting great knot tying tutorials. Thought I'd support the guy by buying a cap, and it far exceeded expectations. The cost of the cap, including shipping from Canada to the UK, was comparable to what I would pay in the UK for a similar item, the quality was great, and it arrived in just a few days.
With brands like this there is no need to buy from Amazon or whatever, you get better products and service buying from the little guy
